England named an unchanged team for the third Ashes Test at Old Trafford after Kevin Pietersen was passed fit.
Pietersen was a doubt due to a calf injury but recovered in time to take his place in the starting XI, meaning James Taylor - included as cover in a 14-man squad - was surplus to requirements.
Fast bowler Chris Tremlett and spinner Monty Panesar were the other players in the squad who failed to make the final cut.
England lead the five-match series 2-0 after wins at Trent Bridge and Lord's and, as holders, require only a draw in Manchester to retain the Ashes.
Australia recalled David Warner, Nathan Lyon and Mitchell Starc as they look to get back in the series.
Starc replaces the injured James Pattinson, while Warner takes Phil Hughes' place and Lyon comes in for teenage spinner Ashton Agar.
Australia captain Michael Clarke won the toss and chose to bat.
What will be the result at Old Trafford?
