The West Indies welcome back wicketkeeper Denesh Ramdin for their triangular series opener against Sri Lanka at Jamaica's Sabina Park on Friday.

Ramdin has completed his two-match ban for falsely claiming a catch in their Champions Trophy opener against Pakistan.

Ramnaresh Sarwan and Jason Holder are the two to drop out as coach Ottis Gibson reduces his squad for the home series, which also features India.

Gibson is looking for his side to bounce back from the disappointment of their Champions Trophy exit at the group stage following their tie with South Africa.

He said: "I think we were starting to shape up to do well in that tournament. It's just to kick on from there.

"It's to put away those little mistakes that we made in England. We felt we had a good opportunity to win that tournament and we want to win this one and prove ourselves right."

Sri Lanka reached the Champions Trophy semi-finals, where they were beaten by eventual champions India, and captain Angelo Mathews hopes to build on that good run.

"We played some really good cricket in the ICC Champions Trophy, beating England and Australia to reach the semi-final, and so the confidence is pretty high," he said.

"The West Indies are a strong team when it comes to the shorter format of the game. I think our main challenge is to try and adapt to the conditions as soon as possible.

"We are looking for a good start, so hopefully we can beat the West Indies and start on a winning note."

Sri Lanka will be without opening batsman Tillakaratne Dilshan, who suffered a calf injury in that semi-final loss.

Axed all-rounder Thisara Perera is the other name absent from the Champions Trophy squad.

India, who will take on the West Indies on Sunday, are without Irfan Pathan due to a hamstring injury, with his place taken by Shami Ahmed.
