Herath claimed his 15th five-wicket haul in Tests
Rangana Herath was pleased with his five-wicket haul as Sri Lanka bowled out Bangladesh for 240 on the first day of the second and final Test in Colombo.
The left-arm spinner finished with figures of 5-68 - the 15th time he has bagged five or more wickets in a Test innings.
He was ably supported by paceman Nuwan Kulasekara, who weighed in with 3-54.
"We thought the pitch would help the seamers. Luckily, I got some wickets but our bowlers bowled well on this track," said Herath.
"I didn't get much help before lunch, but after lunch I just kept the ball in the right place and that's why I was successful."
Mominul Haque led the Bangladesh resistance with a fine 64, before becoming one of Herath's victims.
"It was a good wicket and the ball was coming nicely on to the bat. Herath did well because he maintained a good line and length," said Mominul.
"If the outfield had been good our score could have reached 300-320."
Sri Lanka were 18-1 in reply at the close after losing opener Tillakaratne Dilshan for no score.
The first Test between the two sides was drawn.
