Jos Buttler: Reaches points target for England increment contract

Somerset wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler has been awarded an England increment contract for the 2013 season.

Buttler qualifies for the award by virtue of having represented England on ten occasions since the contract period began on 1 October.

He has become a regular in the Twenty20 side and has been ever-present in five games on the tour of New Zealand, taking over as keeper in the three Twenty20 internationals and two one-dayers played so far.

England award increment contracts to non-contracted players if they reach 20 points in their system during a 12-month period, and Buttler's 10 appearances have taken him through that number.

"This award reflects the contribution Jos has made over the last five months in the shorter formats of the game for England and we congratulate him on his achievement," said national selector Geoff Miller.
