Andrew Flintoff says it's now time for Kevin Pietersen affair to be put to bed and for England to include him in their team to travel to India this year.

Pietersen's future had looked uncertain after his well-publicised text messages and several other dressing room rumblings with his England team-mates.

Flintoff though is sick of all the finger pointing and now just wants to see them all settle their differences and get back to playing cricket.

The ECB and Pietersen have now seemingly buried the hatchet, and Flintoff is eager for the 32-year-old to get back into the squad for the tough tour to India coming up.

"I think England are a better side with him in it," Flintoff told Sky Sports News. "England obviously want him in the team and he wants to play for England.

"All what's been going on for the last few months is just getting boring, it just needs to be resolved, get England's best side on the field and start winning cricket matches again.

"That's what the team want to do, that's what the public want to see and that's what players want so I think it's just time they got on with it now."

Flintoff believes England need Pietersen for the India tour, and although there will be issues with other players it is nothing that can't be resolved.

"I'd like to see him play against India, I think everyone does, you're playing against a side in India that at home is probably as big as any challenge in world cricket, you need your best side but you also need a happy dressing room.

"So Kevin's going to have to go in there and eat a bit of humble pie but I think a couple of the other guys have to do the same as well, I don't think it's been solely him, so there's a couple of issues they are going to have to work through."

Pietersen has signed a four-month contract with England, and Flintoff says he must concentrate on that first and foremost before thinking over his plans for lucrative IPL or Big Bash cricket.

"You just have to prioritise a little bit what's important in the calendar, playing for England is the most important that's the one thing he's got to concentrate on.

"You've got your IPL's and big bashes and other tournaments around the world but that's secondary - it's England first. He knows and realises that and I think he'll be focused on it, otherwise he'll be living on airplanes and in departure lounges and that's no good for him or the side."
