Ashwell Prince has been dropped for South Africa's tour of New Zealand next month while Graeme Smith will miss out on Twenty20 action.
Test captain Smith is set to rest through the Twenty20 matches ahead of the ODI series, whilst AB de Villiers continues to lead the side in one-day cricket.
Prince is South Africa's lone change in the Test side which beat Sri Lanka 2-1 recently and will be replaced by JP Duminy who has been out of the squad for two years.
Duminy, who scored a career best unbeaten 166 against Australia in 2008, received the call with Prince only making one half-century in his last ten Test innings.
Meanwhile, Justin Ontong has been recalled to the ODI and Twenty20 squads for the tour having made his last squad in 2009 for the World Twenty20 in England but failed to make the starting line-up.
Ontong will be joined in the Twenty20 squad by Marchant de Lange and Richard Levi, as South Africa look to bring fresh faces into the set-up.
Outstanding
De Lange has played one Test while Levi is yet to make his international debut, but both will feature as the selectors keep an eye on the World Twenty20 which starts in September in Sri Lanka.
"Ontong fully deserves this latest call-up," said South Africa selector Andrew Hudson. "He has shown outstanding domestic form this season and I believe he has developed into a more mature cricketer.
"He is the complete limited overs package, being a fine batsman who will strengthen our fielding disciplines and also give us another bowling option.
"We have decided to try out some exciting new options in the Twenty20 squad such as Levi, Ontong and De Lange.
"There are only 11 matches left in this format before we travel to Sri Lanka for the World Twenty20 and this is really the last chance to explore the talent we have at our disposal."
South Africa will play three Twenty20 and ODI matches when they arrive in New Zealand before a three-match Test series starts on March 7.
