Mitchell Starc expects Trevor Bayliss to make a big impact as England coach although he is unsure how his style will play out in a new environment.
Bayliss will take charge of England for the first time when the Investec Ashes start in Cardiff next Wednesday and he is currently getting to know his new charges on a pre-series getaway in Spain.
Starc, who is expected to be one of Australia's key pace options this summer, knows Bayliss well having worked with him at New South Wales and in the Big Bash with the Sydney Sixers.
He said: "TB is a great coach. He’s done really well for New South Wales and at the Sydney Sixers as well.
"I think he’ll do well. I’m not sure how the English will respond to his way of coaching. I guess it’s a very Australian way, if you like.
"New South Wales and the Sixers were quite a laid back group as well and I think we responded well. He spent a lot of time with us.
"He’s a great head coach, and man manager, and the fact he is quite calm and relaxed sort of instils that in the group, and that’s one of his great attributes."
The Ashes starts on Wednesday July 8 with the first Test from Cardiff exclusively live on the dedicated Sky Sports Ashes channel (403).
