Uncapped fast bowler Jackson Bird has been called into Australia's squad for the Boxing Day Test against Sri Lanka.
Bird is added to the victorious first Test party along with batsman Usman Khawaja, who has been out of the side for a year.
The 26-year-old - in just his second full season with Tasmania - is likely to compete with Mitchell Johnson for the right to replace the injured Ben Hilfenhaus.
And Bird will hope an 11-wicket haul at the MCG last season earns him a chance ahead of left-armer Johnson, who has struck just 13 times at the venue in four Tests.
Khawaja, meanwhile, joins up as cover for captain Michael Clarke, who injured a hamstring while batting in the 137-run success in Hobart and is doubtful for the second of three Tests.
The second Test is live on Sky Sports 1 HD from 11pm on Christmas Day.
