England Test captain Alastair Cook reveals his top 2 Ashes heroes.

England skipper Alastair Cook picks his top two Ashes heroes with two former captains and fellow Essex men getting the nod.

It's back to 1993 for Cook's first choice and it is the man who has since become his mentor provided the inspiration.

A 40-year-old Graham Gooch hit a century at Old Trafford and as impressive as the knock was, it is perhaps more memorable for the way in which he was dismissed - handled ball.

Cook's second Ashes hero is a man well-known to Sky Sports viewers. Four years on from Gooch's century, Nasser Hussain made the Aussies toil again as he hit a double hundred at Edgbaston, forming a 288-run partnership with Graham Thorpe as England won the match by nine wickets.

Sadly, they lost three of the next four Tests meaning victory at the Oval in August was mere consolation.
