Ian Bell named England vice-captain for Test tour of West Indies

Batsman Ian Bell has been named England’s vice-captain for the upcoming Test tour of West Indies.

The 32-year-old continues in the role having deputised for Alastair Cook for both home series against India and Sri Lanka last summer.

The Warwickshire man is one of England's most experienced players, with 21 Test centuries and over 7,000 runs since his Test debut in 2004.

The ECB confirmed the news ahead of a warm-up match against a St Kitts & Nevis XI on Easter Monday.

Batsman Jonathan Trott, returning from an extended absence from the England set-up with stress-related illness, was selected to open the batting with skipper Cook for the match in St Kitts.

England are looking to put a disappointing limited-overs spell behind them that included knockout in the World Cup group stages.
