Lahiru Thirimanne says taking on England's bowlers was "very easy" compared to facing Afghanistan.
The opener hit an unbeaten hundred in Wellington as Sri Lanka inflicted England's latest heavy defeat - a nine-wicket thumping that leaves Eoin Morgan's side second-bottom in Pool A.
Morgan blamed his bowlers for the defeat, and England's hopes of reaching the quarter-finals now rest on their remaining group games against Bangladesh and Afghanistan, who ran the Sri Lankans close before going down by four wickets.
Thirimanne was dismissed for a golden duck in that game, and his comparison of the two pace attacks does not make pretty reading for England.
He said: "To be honest that day Afghanistan's bowlers did really well, but there was a little bit for the seamers. Today it was very easy for me."
Sri Lanka have now won three straight games after an opening defeat to New Zealand, and Thirimanne is averaging more than 85 at the tournament.
"I only missed out in one match against Afghanistan," he said. "Other than that, I have scored runs so I am very happy with my performance.
"I think anything can happen in this tournament. We were one down when things started but we have come back really hard. We still have to play Australia and we want to give our 100 percent and win that match as well."
