England have called upon bowler Jade Dernbach as cover for Tim Bresnan for the upcoming series against New Zealand.
With Bresnan's wife due to give birth, the England selectors are keen to cover all scenarios with the first of the three one-day internationals starting on Friday at Lord's.
Bresnan, who has played 69 times for England's ODI team, was not used in the two recent Test matches against the Kiwis having been rested for the winter tour in New Zealand to allow for elbow surgery.
He has been back in action for Yorkshire, but England will be hoping to see him in international action before the start of the Champions Trophy.
The 27-year-old South Africa-born Dernbach is not part of England's Champions Trophy squad but has been impressing in recent weeks for his county Surrey.
His last international was in February's Twenty20 series against New Zealand.
Chris Woakes, Ravi Bopara and James Tredwell will all be hoping to get their chance for England in the shorter format in the coming weeks.
