Matt Prior: Backing England's bowlers
England wicketkeeper Matt Prior is confident their bowling attack will able to cause India problems despite the loss of the injured Steven Finn for the first Test in Ahmedabad which starts on Thursday.
Finn has, as expected, succumbed to a thigh injury and Stuart Broad must prove his fitness as he battles a heel problem.
But Prior insists the tourists are still a strong bowling unit as England prepare for a gruelling tour of the sub-continent.
"Our bowling unit is a serious group of bowlers. The way they performed in the UAE and Sri Lanka at the start of the year was phenomenal," he said.
"You won't get much hotter or humid conditions than what we got in Sri Lanka and they performed brilliantly.
"They didn't just bowl well, they did awesomely well, and we just needed to get a few more runs, unfortunately.
"From a skills point of view - whether it is swinging, seaming, reverse-swinging or spinning - I think we've got all areas covered. That will be vital.
"If they (bowlers) can perform like they did last winter then we'll be in a very good position to win this series."
