England not getting carried away by back-to-back wins

England batsman Ravi Bopara is wary of a Pakistan fightback in the one-day international series. Bopara has scored two half-centuries to help England earn a pair of victories in Abu Dhabi and open an unassailable 2-0 lead in the four-match rubber. The action switches to Dubai on Saturday and Bopara wants England to be on their guard. "In any series when you go 2-0 up the mood is pretty good," the Essex right-hander told Sky Sports News HD. "But we are keeping our feet on the ground, especially after what happened in the Test matches. "We know what Pakistan are capable of. They are a very unpredictable side, they can come out hard in the next couple of games so we've got to stay aware and keep doing what we've been doing. "We haven't had a good one-day record in the subcontinent, so it would be a big thing for us to win out here."

Whitewash

Bopara was an unused member of England's squad that lost the preceding Tests against Pakistan by a 3-0 scoreline. But he is not yet thinking England can return the favour with a whitewash of their own in the 50-over format. "I wouldn't want to get too giddy," said Bopara. "We've done that in the past - not as a team - but as an individual you get giddy and things go horribly wrong. "We are not going to look too far ahead. We need to keep doing what we have done in the last two matches, just worry about our skills and dealing with that Pakistan bowling line-up and, when we get a chance to bowl, dealing with their batting line-up." Bopara also believes England's ODI captain Alastair Cook, who has scored a century in each of the last two matches, has the ability to make an impact in the Twenty20 format. Cook has made only four appearances for his country in the shortest format, the most recent in November 2009.
Adapt
"He's someone I've seen adapt so much over his career so far," Bopara said of his Essex team-mate. "I've played with him since I was 14, 15 - and with the amount he's changed over the years, there's no reason why he can't change and become that Twenty20 player as well." Though his stoic Test-match persona still exists when the time is right, Cook knew he had to reinvent himself if he was to have a significant 50-over career. "I've seen him play some class Twenty20 knocks for Essex," added Bopara. "There's no reason he can't do it for England. "He's someone I've seen adapt more than anyone in my whole career. "Most definitely, I think he's the sort of person who will play for England in Twenty20." England's tour of the United Arab Emirates concludes with three T20 internationals against Pakistan after the ODIs.
