Sir Ian Botham is backing Alex Hales to make a huge impact in England's five-match ODI series with India, starting at Bristol on Monday.
Hales has been called into the England squad for the 50 over format of the game for the first time after some impressive performances for Nottinghamshire this season.
The 25-year-old has scored 553 runs, including four centuries, at an average of 61.44 in just nine matches this season and Botham feels the time is right for him to become a big hit on the international stage.
"Alex is in great form and deserves his chance," said Botham, when naming Hales as his Sky Bet tip to score the most series runs at enhanced odds of 9/2.
"It's difficult to know who the selectors will pick over the series but he's definitely the form player and one I think will do very well."
"I like Eoin Morgan and Gary Ballance, they are great players in this format but I'm sticking with Hales."
With the opening two matches of the series at Bristol and Cardiff likely to suit the spinners the former England all-rounder is tipping Moeen Ali as his value bet at odds of 9/1to be England's leading wicket-taker in the series.
Beefy is also backing England to follow on from their Test series win by toppling the one-day world champions.
He added: "It's not going to be easy for England and I think it will be very close, but India's confidence is low. They've brought in seven new faces and they are there for the taking."
