Cook's men facing stiff examination as India coast to victory
England are out to 12/1 with Sky Bet to record their first series win in India for 28 years following their comprehensive nine-wicket 1st Test defeat in Ahmedabad.
Alastair Cook's men have come under fire from the media for their performance and have little time to re-group with the 2nd Test beginning in Mumbai in the early hours of Friday morning.
England are 9/2 with the online bookmaker to bounce back with a victory while India are available at 10/11 and the draw 13/8.
India are 1/8 to complete a series win and they are available at 4/1 for a series whitewash 4-0 success such was the impressive nature of their showing with bat and ball in the opening Test. A drawn series is on offer at 13/2.
Sky Bet cricket trader Damon Blezard commented: "England weren't great it has to be said but they should be better for the experience and were certainly much better with the bat second time around in the 1st Test.
"Changes are on the cards too with Johnny Bairstow coming in for the absent Ian Bell who is returning home for personal reasons and I expect Monty Panesar to boost the spin attack.
"Having said that the extra bounce in Mumbai should suit us and we won there on the 2005/06 tour when Jimmy Anderson took six wickets.
"On that occasion England scored 400 in the first innings and their first knock will again be the key as well as winning the toss!"
