Nottinghamshire batsman Michael Lumb suffered injury in making 68 against Middlesex

Nottinghamshire will be without batsman Michael Lumb for four weeks due to an arm injury.

The England limited overs international picked up the problem while making 68 against Middlesex on Tuesday, his first half-century of the LV= County Championship season.

The left-hander, who does not require an operation, is now set to miss the county's next three first-class fixtures, as well as six matches in the NatWest T20 Blast.

"Michael needs a period of rest which is a blow at this stage of the season given his record in all formats," said director of cricket Mick Newell.

"It's very important that we allow him time to recover and get him back into the side knowing that Phil Jaques will only be around for three more weeks."
