Australian ruled out until end of May with hand injury
Glamorgan will be without overseas player Marcus North for the first two months of the county season because of injury.
The Australia all-rounder was already going to miss the first month of the season because his wife is due to give birth to their second child.
But he ruptured tendons in his hand playing for Western Australia against New South Wales last week and has been told he needs three months to recover, which effectively means he will not be available to Glamorgan until the end of May at the earliest.
Glamorgan have been searching for a replacement overseas player to fill in, with New South Wales all-rounder Moises Henriques one possibility.
"There's never a good time for an injury and unfortunately it's come for me at the back end of the season when we're playing really good cricket," said North, whose Western Australia team could be heading for the Sheffield Shield final.
"It's devastating not to have the opportunity to play the rest of the season, but I'll certainly be right behind the guys and hoping for the best.
"It would be great to top it off with making a Sheffield Shield final and winning a Shield final and if they do, I'll just have to live with the fact I won't be playing in it."
