Seamer gets chance to impress on loan

Gloucestershire have re-signed seamer Anthony Ireland from Middlesex for the remainder of the season. The 27-year-old spent four seasons at Gloucestershire before moving to Middlesex ahead of the 2011 campaign. Ireland has represented Zimbabwe in 26 ODIs and has played in 39 first class matches, taking 118 wickets but Ireland has played just one first team game for Middlesex in 2012 - a tour match against the West Indies. Director of cricket, John Bracewell, told the club website: "Anthony has been told that he is not part of the long term plans at Middlesex, who have kindly released him to us on loan. "With the loss of Ian Saxelby for the rest of the season through injury, it will be handy to have someone with miles under his belt in terms of experience and who knows our systems pretty well."
