Liam Norwell produced a devastating spell of seam bowling to put Gloucestershire in complete charge against Essex at Chelmsford.

The 23-year-old took four wickets in a dazzling 17-ball spell as the home side were bowled out for 159 on day one of the four-day LV= County Championship Division Two clash.

Gloucestershire closed on 77 without loss in reply, with Chris Dent finishing the day unbeaten on 42, supported by William Tavare (32).
