Young all-rounder Tom Wells has become the latest player to sign a deal with Leicestershire
Wells, who graduated through the club's academy alongside Shiv Thakor, caught the eye with a series of strong performances in the Second XI this season.
The 19-year-old, whose father John played and coached at Leicester Tigers and England, is one of seven players to agree terms with the club in recent days.
He joins Matthew Boyce, Michael Thornely, Rob Taylor, James Sykes, Angus Robson and Ollie Freckingham, who have all committed to play their cricket at Grace Road next season.
Wells was in the Loughborough Town side that competed in the County Cup final on Sunday and is currently playing in the Second XI final against Kent at Grace Road, where he made 49 not out yesterday.
"Tom has made a real impact this season in 2nd XI cricket, said Leicestershire chief executive Mike Siddall "He deserves a chance to prove he can step up a level to the first team squad."
