Mohammad Yousuf: Has been made an offer

Sky Bet

Leicestershire have made an offer to Pakistan veteran Mohammad Yousuf to be their overseas player this year.

The Foxes are desperate to strengthen their batting order ahead of the new season following the loss of James Taylor to Nottinghamshire.

They had hoped to fill the void with Martin van Jaarsveld but the South African has announced his retirement.

Leicestershire coach Phil Whitticase said: "Mohammad is one of the guys we have looked and we have offered something to him.

"But it doesn't mean we will get him. There are few areas to be discussed."

Yousuf, who has played 97 Tests for Pakistan, spent a brief spell at Warwickshire last season.
