Derbyshire have agreed terms with Cheteshwar Pujara for him to join them for the final three County Championship fixtures of the season.
The India batsman made 81 against the county in a tour match in July, before scoring 222 runs in the following five-match Test series against England.
Derbyshire's elite performance director Graeme Welch said: "He will give a welcome boost to the dressing room in the County Championship run-in."
Pujara added: "I'm keen to play as much cricket as possible in England this year and I'm looking forward to joining up with Derbyshire at the beginning of September."
