Middlesex seamer Tom Helm has had his loan spell at Glamorgan extended until June 19.

The 20-year-old joined the Welsh side on May 2, initially for a month, and has impressed in the three LV= County Championship he has played in so far.

Helm picked up two wickets in the six-wicket defeat to Hampshire and two more in the draw against Leicestershire, and he will now be eligible for two more county games over the coming weeks.

Glamorgan chief executive Hugh Morris said in a statement on Saturday: “Glamorgan CCC is delighted to confirm an extension to the loan agreement for Tom.

“This allows him to be available for selection for our next two matches and we are most grateful to Middlesex CCC for agreeing to our request.

"Tom has been a valuable addition to our playing squad over the past month and has continued to develop and grow in confidence over the three games he has played for the club.

“He has fitted into our dressing room extremely well and I am sure he will continue to benefit from his time at Glamorgan.”

Middlesex director of cricket Angus Fraser said: "As before, I believe this is a win-win situation for all concerned.

“Middlesex have a talented and extremely promising young fast bowler who is capable of playing first-class cricket but is currently unable to get those opportunities with us.

“Going on loan to Glamorgan allows this to happen and for Tom to continue his development."

Helm made his debut for Middlesex at only 18 years old against Yorkshire in June last year.
