A recap of all the action from Monday's county cricket in Division 1 and 2.

Steve Davies secured an unbeaten double century for Surrey as Glamorgan were left wobbling at the end of day two in their LV= County Championship Division Two clash.

It was a career-high innings for Davies, who registered his unbeaten 200 from 290 balls that included 23 fours and steered his team to 563-7 declared.

Andy Carter, on a month's loan from Nottinghamshire, was the star man with the ball for the Welsh hosts with 4-110, but it was another tough day for the Glamorgan fielders, as Kumar Sangakarra racked up 149 earlier in the innings.

It meant a relatively quiet day for Kevin Pietersen who spent his day in Cardiff combining a spot of fielding with a
bit of tweeting following his meagre score of 19 on the opening day.

Glamorgan's task was to reach 414 to avoid the follow-on and, with Pietersen only occasionally in the action at mid-off or mid-on, they lost James Kettleborough for 15 soon after the team interval when he shouldered arms to
Matt Dunn and an inside edge deflected the ball back onto the stumps.

Jacques Rudolph provided some much-needed spark with a solid 69 before falling in the final half-hour of the day when he pushed forward to Gareth Batty's off-spin and Jason Roy held a sharp chance low at slip as they stuttered to 124-2 from 44 overs.
