Spinner James Tredwell will remain with Kent beyond the end of the 2015 season.
The 32-year-old's contract was due to expire at the end of next summer but he has now signed an extension to remain at Canterbury.
Tredwell, who will soon be departing with the England team for a one-day series in Sri Lanka, has played 39 ODIs and is hoping to be part of next year’s World Cup which is being staged in Australia and New Zealand.
He said: "I am delighted to secure my future here at Kent. It was great to return after my time away with Sussex this year.
"The future at Kent looks really exciting with lots of home-grown players coming through and I hope to play a part in success going forward."
Tredwell has spent his entire career at Canterbury, progressing through the age groups before making his first-class debut in 2001 although he had a loan spell with Sussex earlier this year.
As for his England career, he adds: "The first step is to be on the plane to Sri Lanka and press your claim for a place in the team before the World Cup.
"I'll take it one series at a time and you have to take the chance to show what you can do."
