Robbie Joseph: Has departed the Spitfires after having limited first-team opportunities in 2011

Kent fast bowler Robbie Joseph is to leave the county after limited first-team opportunities during the 2011 season.

His departure comes after he played in six LV= County Championship games last term but did not feature in any senior limited overs matches.

The paceman's exit ends a six-year association with the Spitfires, after the 29-year-old made his debut at the end of the 2005 campaign.

He went on to take 144 first-class wickets at 31.25 for Kent, while he also claimed 47 wickets in one-day and Twenty20 cricket.

New challenge

His performances in 2008 led to him being picked for the England Performance squad and England Lions.

Joseph, who was born in Antigua, told the county's official website: "I have greatly enjoyed my time at Kent and now looking forward to a new challenge elsewhere.

"I feel I still have a great deal to achieve in the game and am looking forward to making that happen."

Kent chairman Graham Johnson added: "We would like to thank Robbie for his efforts for the county over the years and wish him well for the future."
