England international Tremlett claimed 5-60 while fellow seamer Curran returned figures of 4-88, the other wicket being picked up by Matt Dunn.

Only Jim Allenby (69), Chris Cooke (45) and Will Owen (37 not out) offered any real resistance for the hosts, who then saw Surrey ease to 121 without loss in reply in the 42 overs they faced before stumps.

Glamorgan lost three wickets for one run in the opening overs; Tremlett bowled Jacques Rudolph with a delivery that nipped back and then had Ben Wright lbw playing across the line for a first-ball duck.

In between Curran had William Bragg caught at slip and after a brief break for rain, he saw off Murray Goodwin to leave the score at 43-4.
