Surrey captain Gary Wilson impressed with an unbeaten 160 to put his side in a strong position on day two of their LV= County Championship Division Two match against struggling Leicestershire at the Kia Oval.

The hosts resumed on 325-7 and Wilson, together with Chris Tremlett, whose 90 was also a career best, added 192 for Surrey's eighth wicket, a new county record against Leicestershire.

Wilson then inflicted further punishment on a toiling attack by putting on an unbroken 82 with last man Jade Dernbach before Surrey declared 30 minutes before tea on 522-9.

That left Leicestershire needing 373 just to avoid the follow on but 75 by in-form opener Gus Robson helped them reach 125-3 at stumps.

Replying to the home side's 391, the Welsh county began day three on 209-2 and posted 569-7 by stumps, claiming maximum batting points.

Wright contributed 123 and Jacques Rudolph, unbeaten on 108 overnight, eventually fell for 139.

Adam Riley and Darren Stevens set up Kent for their second County Championship victory of the season by demolishing Derbyshire's batting and forcing them to follow on at Canterbury.

Kent had begun the day on 259-8 and pushed on to 333 all-out before their bowlers took 13 Derbyshire wickets.

Off-spinner Riley, touted as an England Test possible against India later this summer, took 4-30 and Stevens 3-25 as Derbyshire ended up with just 115 in their first innings.

Battling again, they were then reduced to 32-3 at stumps, still 186 runs behind, with Stevens taking 2-17.
