Hampshire all-rounder Liam Dawson has been ruled out of action for up to six weeks.
Dawson suffered a groin strain while batting during Friday night's NatWest T20 Blast match against Glamorgan at The Ageas Bowl.
The news is a big blow to Hampshire - Dawson has been a key player, particularly in one-day cricket and he could miss as many as five of their T20 Blast matches, and up to four County Championship matches.
As well as his batting, Dawson's spin bowling has been a big weapon for Hampshire in Twenty20 cricket in the last couple of years.
Hampshire will also be without Michael Carberry for the next few weeks as he is on international duty with England, but Owais Shah will help fill the void following his arrival this week.
