Updates from the second round of LV= County Championship games as Kevin Pietersen opens his season with Surrey.

DIVISION ONE

NOTTINGHAMSHIRE v YORKSHIRE (Yorkshire won toss, put Notts in)

18.00: Alex Hales hits a double century as Nottinghamshire storm to 375-6 in the evening session. Jack Brooks' two quick wickets before tea had put Yorkshire back in the game at Trent Bridge but Hales, who had shared a third-wicket stand of 171 with James Taylor (59), was in dominant form as the hosts took command. Earlier teenage debutant Matthew Fisher claimed his maiden wicket for the visitors.

SUSSEX v WORCESTERSHIRE (Sussex won toss, bat first)

17.00: Matt Machan had a day to remember at Hove, where he scored a hugely impressive century for Sussex. Machan ended with 135 off only 100 balls, his first 50 coming off only 27, as Worcestershire's attack was dispatched to all parts of the ground. Ed Joyce made 49 and Luke Wright hit eight fours in his 51 but Sussex were bowled out for 345, Gareth Andrew taking 3-73 and Charlie Morris and Jack Shantry getting two wickets each.

WARWICKSHIRE v HAMPSHIRE (Warwickhire won toss, put Hampshire in)

TEA: Warwickshire's bowlers had a much better afternoon session after Hampshire's openers dominated the morning. Jimmy Adams (53) and Liam Dawson (38) put on 94 for the first wicket, but after Dawson fell the Hampshire innings disintegrated. Boyd Rankin claimed four wickets and Chris Wright two wickets to restrict them to 201-6

DIVISION TWO

GLAMORGAN v SURREY (Surrey won toss, bat first)

17.40: Kumar Sangakkara hits a century on his Championship bow as he and Steven Davies combine for a superb fourth-wicket stand as Surrey rebounded from the earlier loss of Kevin Pietersen at the SWALEC Stadium. Pietersen came in just after lunch but made only 19 in his first Division Two knock of the year, but Sangakkara eased past 100 and Davies is closing in on his ton on 89 as the visitors make it to 327-3. Their stand is worth 177 at more than four an over.

KENT v ESSEX (Essex won toss, put Kent in)

TEA: Jesse Ryder played a starring role with the ball as Kent were bowled out for 193. Ryder took five wickets, three in the morning session before returning to get Mitch Claydon just before the interval. Kent's hopes rested on Darren Stevens, who made it to 50, but he became Ryder's fifth victim just before tea and Essex are well on top at Chelmsford.

LANCASHIRE v DERBYSHIRE (Derbyshire won toss, put Lancashire in)

TEA: Alviro Petersen rescued Lancashire from a deep hole with a fluent century as they rallied in the afternoon session against Derbyshire. They were in trouble at lunch, with Tony Palladino claiming two wickets and Mark Footitt and Shiv Thakor one apiece, but the South African found an able ally in captain Tom Smith as they took their fifth-wicket stand past 100 - they were 192-5 with Smith falling just before tea for 38.
