Scott Styris will play for Leicestershire in this season's NatWest T20 Blast competition.
The New Zealand all-rounder has signed up to become the Foxes' second overseas player for the competition, subject to visa approval.
Styris has form in English cricket's T20 game having hit 38 in one over while playing for Sussex in 2012.
The 38-year-old also has Indian Premier League experience with both Chennai Super Kings and Deccan Chargers.
He is closing in on 4,000 runs in the T20 format and has a strike rate of 134.92 from 170 innings. He has also picked up 113 wickets at an economy rate of under 7.5 an over.
Styris said: "Having played in two finals days in the last four years, I feel I have unfinished business in English T20 cricket and want to play a key role for a successful Foxes campaign."
Leicestershire, who have also signed up West Indie batsman Ramnaresh Sarwan, open their campaign against Derbyshire on May 16.
