Con de Lange: Has extended his stay at Northamptonshire
Wicket-keeper David Murphy has signed a new two-year deal at Northamptonshire and spinner Con de Lange has also extended his stay at the club.
The 23-year-old Murphy began to break his way into Northants' first team this season, scoring 252 runs in 10 LV= County Championship appearances and also taking 23 catches.
The gloveman, who was called up to tour with Scotland recently, also made 13 one-day appearances for the county.
"I'm delighted to be staying at the County Ground," Murphy said of his new deal.
"A lot of the younger players are signing up and hopefully we can all progress in the coming years, where we all want to work hard and bring success to the county."
South African de Lange was the Steelbacks' leading wicket taker in the Clydesdale Bank 40 and the Friends Life t20 during his first season with the club.
"Con's one day form was very consistent and his professionalism around the squad is a valuable asset to us," head coach David Ripley said.
He added of Murphy: "David took his opportunity when it was presented to him earlier this season, he has shown great skill up to the stumps and a knack of building important partnerships down the order."
