New Zealand spinner Daniel Vettori has confirmed his retirement from international cricket.
Vettori, 36, has ended an international career with the Black Caps that included 113 Test matches, 295 ODIs and 34 Twenty20 internationals.
Vettori's last appearance for New Zealand came in Sunday's World Cup final against Australia in Melbourne, where his side suffered a seven-wicket defeat.
He told reporters at Auckland airport: "It was my last game for New Zealand, in the final, so it was a lovely way to finish.
"It would have been great to win, but I'm pretty proud of everyone, the way we've gone about things the last six weeks."
New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum paid tribute to Vettori, who he revealed suffered a pulled calf muscle between innings of the final.
"In typical Dan style he still went out there and tried to get the job done," McCullum said.
"We're going to lose one of our all time great players, we're also going to lose a great bloke from the (team) environment as well so he's going to be very hard to replace.
"We'll have a nice celebration for him tomorrow and we'll be able to toast the success of his career and his impact on this game. We've been lucky to have the privilege of playing with him."
With 362 Test wickets and 4,531 runs (including six centuries), Vettori is in an elite club of all-rounders - joining India's Kapil Dev and England's Ian Botham as the only players to have taken more than 300 wickets and scored more than 4,000 runs.
