Virat Kohli has been warned by India’s cricket board over his future conduct following a row with a journalist during a practice session.

The India vice captain lost his cool with a reporter over an article concerning his girlfriend, the Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma.

It later transpired the 26-year-old batsman's altercation had taken place with a journalist who had nothing to do with the story in question.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) warned him against a repetition of the behaviour ahead of Friday’s  World Cup match against West Indies in Perth.

BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur has urged Kohli to "maintain the dignity of the team at all times".
