Shafiul Islam has been approved by the International Cricket Council to join Bangladesh's World Cup squad.
Shafiul will replace pace bowler Al-Amin Hossain, who was sent home after breaking a team curfew.
Al-Amin did not play in the team's opening 105-run win over Afghanistan, and Bangladesh's second match against Australia was washed out in Brisbane at the weekend.
Al-Amin reportedly stayed out late in Brisbane on the night of February 19 and, as a result, he "breached team rules".
The ICC issued a statement Monday saying Shafiul, who has played 52 one-day internationals for Bangladesh, had been approved to join the 15-man squad as "an exceptional circumstance."
Bangladesh are due to play 1996 champions Sri Lanka on Thursday.
