Yorkshire chairman Colin Graves has been nominated for the role of ECB chairman by the counties and Marylebone Cricket Club.

The 66-year-old convenience-store entrepreneur looks set to replace Giles Clarke, who steps down in May, with no other nominations put forward for the post.

The candidacy of Graves will be put forward for election by the 41 members of the ECB, being the chairmen of the first class county clubs, the chairmen of the county boards in non-first class counties, the chairman of the Minor Counties Cricket Association and the chairman of MCC.

Graves, chairman of Yorkshire since 2012, revealed his ambitions earlier this month to shake up the sport, stating there were "a lot of things to sort out" in the English game.

Election papers will soon be sent out and the result will be revealed at the end of February.
