The Indian cricket board has announced that they will suspend future tours to the Caribbean after the West Indies abandoned their visit to India.

And the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) will also take legal action against the West Indies Cricket Board.

BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel said in a statement: “All bilateral tours between BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) and the WICB stand suspended.”

The BCCI released their statement after an emergency meeting of their working committee in Hyderabad and they added that they will "initiate legal proceedings against the WICB due to the abrupt cancellation of this tour".

The West Indies left the tour after the fourth one-day international in Dharamsala last Friday, with one more ODI, a Twenty20 and three Tests still to play.

The trip was abandoned because the WICB is locked in a pay dispute with the players. Captain Dwayne Bravo had said before the start of the tour on 8 October that the players had not accepted the payment agreement signed on their behalf by the West Indies Players Association.

India had been scheduled to tour the Caribbean in February and March 2016 for three Tests, five one-dayers and a Twenty20 international but that trip is now clearly in doubt.
