All-rounder Ravi Bopara has signed a new one-year deal to extend his stay at Essex.
Bopara, who was recalled to the England squad for their one-day series in Sri Lanka earlier this week, has spent his entire first-class career with the county and made his debut 12 years ago.
He has scored 1,482 runs over the three formats for the Chelmsford club this season but his county form was not enough to see him included for the recent international 50-over series defeat by India.
Coach Paul Grayson said, “I am absolutely delighted that Ravi has signed his new contract.
"He has become one of the senior figures in our dressing room, and is a key component of our side in each form of the game.
"He has been with Essex for a long time, and it is great news for all our Members and fans that he has signed his new deal.”
