England fast bowler James Anderson admitted he verbally abused India's Ravi Jadeja during the first Test at Trent Bridge, Sky Sports News understands.
Anderson will be free to play for England in the fourth Test against India at Old Trafford after being found not guilty of breaching the ICC's Code of Conduct at a hearing last Friday.
He could have been banned for up to four Test matches if he was found guilty of a Level 3 charge of "pushing and abusing" India all-rounder Jadeja in the pavilion during the first Test.
But ICC judicial commissioner Gordon Lewis decided neither player transgressed, meaning Anderson is free after all to play on his home ground this week.
According to evidence seen by Sky Sports News, during the hearing Anderson did admit he used foul language. But because there was no video evidence, the case was thrown out by Lewis.
The incident occurred in the corridor which leads onto the playing field. There is a camera covering it, but it has never been switched on. Nottinghamshire originally installed it for use in the county's blog.
There is another camera on the staircase which leads from the corridor to the changing rooms which was working – but it was not covering the part of the corridor where Anderson and Jadeja had their confrontation.
