Gloucestershire keeper Gareth Roderick will miss the start of the season after fracturing his finger in a pre-season friendly.
The news is a big blow to Gloucestershire, who have high hopes for the South-Africa born Roderick.
He batted at No 3 for the county last season, scoring two centuries in the Championship.
He suffered the injury during a match with Somerset at the County Ground, and it is not yet known how long he will be out of action for.
Cameron Herring will take the gloves for the opening County Championship match of the season against Hampshire at Bristol, starting a week on Sunday.
