Chris Tremlett has insisted that Kevin Pietersen is a great person to have around the England team.
Pietersen has found his place in the side under intense scrutiny following England's 5-0 Ashes thrashing by Australia.
Reports in some sections of the media had claimed team director Andy Flower was ready to walk out on England if Pietersen remained part of the set-up.
And Pietersen has received the backing of Tremlett, who has remained in Australia to play for the Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash.
"I haven't actually seen any of it today but generally in the dressing room it has been pretty good," he said.
"It has obviously been pretty frustrating for everyone. But with England moving forward I am not sure what is going to happen with Andy Flower and Kevin Pietersen. I guess it is for those guys to sort out. Hopefully everyone can move forward in a positive way and rebuild this England side.
"Obviously it will be a great shame if England cricket team didn't have Kevin Pietersen in it. He adds a lot to the team with the way he is.
"He is a confident player and I think he is great around the group. He is a very honest person.
"When he goes out to bat for us he is our match-winner. He is the person the opposition fear the most and when guys get him out you can see how happy they are to get that prized wicket as they know he is the man who can take the game away from them."
