Melbourne Renegades made it back-to-back wins in the Big Bash League following a 51-run victory over Hobart Hurricanes on New Year's Day.
The Renegades batted first and led by openers Michael Hill and Aaron Finch posted a healthy total of 162-8 from their 20 overs.
The Hurricanes' run chase never got going and after losing three quick early wickets the hosts stumbled to 111 all out from 17.1 overs.
Melbourne, in contrast, were quick out of the blocks with openers Hill (40) and Finch (50) putting on 92 before the loss of their first wicket with 9.2 overs bowled.
Englishman Jos Buttler, who normally brings a lofty strike rate to the table, hit a six and two fours en route to scoring 20 from 17 deliveries.
Ben Roher (12) and Tom Cooper (17) were the only other batsmen to make notable contributions as the visitors set 163 to win.
However, Hobart were on the back foot from the off with Ben Dunk (1), Shoaib Malik (1) and Owais Shah (0) all falling cheaply leaving the score on just 10-3.
Travis Birt (21) managed to keep the scoreboard ticking over, but he fell in the eighth over off the bowling of Sri Lanka legend Muttiah Muralitharan.
Jonathan Wells (17), Tim Paine (31) and Evan Gulbis (16) were the only other Hurricanes batsmen to reach double figures.
James Pattinson was the pick of the bowlers for the Renegades with impressive figures of 4-24 from his four overs.
