England have selected three recent debutants in their initial squad for the Women's Ashes Series with Australia.
The 18-strong party includes Natasha Farrant, Natalie Sciver and Lauren Winfield, who all debuted against Pakistan last week, as well as Katherine Brunt, Holly Colvin and Laura Marsh who are returning from injury after missing the Natwest Series.
The series comprises one Test match, three 50-over internationals and three Twenty20 matches and the squad will be cut to 15 before the Test gets underway on August 11 at Wormsley in Buckinghamshire.
Six points will be awarded to the winner of the Test match and two points are up for grabs for each of the six limited overs games, with the team accruing most total points winning the Ashes.
Head of England Women's Cricket Clare Connor said: "It is pleasing to see such healthy competition for places ahead of the Women's Ashes Series.
"Exciting young players from the England Women's Academy have stepped up in to the England squad in the recent internationals against Pakistan and have made an outstanding contribution on and off the pitch. One highlight being Natalie Sciver's 3-28 in just her second ODI.
"This is an exciting time for all players, both the young and experienced, who will be hoping to have the honour of taking on Australia in the Women's Ashes Series and I am delighted that our talent pipeline is providing selectors with some really tough decisions."
