Alastair Cook admits he could have done things differently as a captain during England's fruitless Test series against New Zealand.
Cook watched his side come away with a 0-0 draw from three matches Down Under, with New Zealand's batsman on top for long periods.
And the 28-year-old has revealed he will look to improve on his captaincy skills ahead of a big Ashes summer.
"I could have been more proactive at times," he said. "I can't change who I am as a captain, like a Michael Clarke or a Ricky Ponting, I can't be like that.
"You can take little things from different styles at certain times and looking back I could have been a little more inventive at times."
