Fit-again seamer replaces Harris for CB Series climax
Paceman James Pattinson has been brought into the Australia squad for the remainder of the Commonwealth Bank Series.
The 20-year-old recently returned to action after a foot injury suffered in January and replaces Ryan Harris, who had been struggling for form, for Friday's final round-robin match against Sri Lanka and the finals.
National selector John Inverarity said: "James Pattinson is fit again and after impressive recent form in a Futures League match in Adelaide, comes into the squad at expense of Ryan Harris, who has been dropped.
"Ryan remains strongly in contention for selection for the Test matches on the VB Tour of the West Indies."
Clarke recovery
Inverarity expects captain Michael Clarke, who missed the last match against India with a back injury, to be fit to face Sri Lanka.
"Michael Clarke is making a good recovery and is likely to resume on Friday," he said.
"The selectors will consider adding an extra player to this squad for the Commonwealth Bank Series finals matches, if conditions warrant it."
Australia have already qualified for the finals, where they are likely to face Sri Lanka again.
