Ireland captain Will Porterfield has joined Warwickshire from Gloucestershire on a three-year contract.
The 26-year-old batsman joins new overseas player Younus Khan in making the move to Edgbaston.
Director of cricket Ashley Giles said: "This has been a good week for the Bears, having completed the signing of two very high class batsmen to our squad for next season."
"Will has proved his potential at international and domestic level and I believe he has a great deal more to offer."
Porterfield added: "I am extremely excited to be joining the Bears. It's a club with a great history and I'm looking forward to playing a significant part in their future success."
The 26-year-old batsman was out of contract at Gloucestershire, although he was offered a new deal by the club.
Gloucestershire chief executive Tom Richardson said: "We would like to thank Will for his efforts on behalf of our club and wish him well for the future."
