Northamptonshire have announced that all-rounder Chaminda Vaas will return to the club for the majority of the 2010-11 season.
The Sri Lankan veteran has just finished his first spell with the Steelbacks, where he was one of their star performers in the Friends Provident t20 competition.
As well as spearheading their FP t20 campaign, Vaas, who played 111 Test matches and 322 one day internationals for Sri Lanka, also appeared in two LV= County Championship matches for the club.
And his deal for next season will see him play a more prominent part in all competitions.
Northants head coach David Capel said: "Chaminda made an excellent contribution for Northants during 2010 and it will be great to have his all-round services to call upon on a more regular basis throughout the 2011 season.
Chief executive Mark Tagg also welcomed the news that 36-year-old Vaas would be returning to the County Ground in 2011.
"Experience and quality are essential elements of a successful team and Chaminda brings both in abundance," he said.
"The younger players especially will get real value from Chaminda and the club will continue to move forward with him in the side."
