Captain Matthew Hoggard insists players will not take action in their row with Leicestershire management.
Foxes skipper urges everyone at the county to close ranks
Leicestershire captain Matthew Hoggard insists there are no plans for "player protest action" amid the management unrest which has engulfed Grace Road.
Hoggard has formulated an official statement of his own, responding to
claims from Leicestershire chairman Neil Davidson that the skipper and coach Tim Boon have set a "very poor example" to playing staff.
Discontent has continued to simmer at the club since an apparent disintegration of the relationship between chairman and chief executive David Smith culminated in the latter's resignation.
Davidson attended an emergency board meeting on Monday after a private talk with Hoggard, and then on Tuesday morning publicly criticised both the captain and coach over the contents of a letter co-signed by them to him and on the players' behalf.
Former England seamer Hoggard responded this afternoon as follows: "I am disappointed that a private letter sent to the board has been made public.
"As coach and captain, Tim Boon and I believe we have a duty to bring matters of serious concern to our employer's attention - and we did this privately and confidentially in recognition that this was and remains a matter for the board of Leicestershire County Cricket Club.

"We conveyed the sincere and deeply-held views of the players and staff of the club to the board and asked them to act appropriately in light of those concerns. We continue to urge them to do so."
Hoggard, 33, who left his native Yorkshire at the end of last season, added: "There has been inaccurate reporting regarding proposed player protest action. I can confirm that no such action was or is planned.
"Throughout my career, I have always striven to do my best for my team - and that is all I have been trying to do here.
"I don't think it is helpful for Leicestershire CCC to have these issues played out in public, and I'm sure everyone with the club's best interests at heart will agree with that sentiment."
