Hampshire have signed Sri Lanka left-arm spinner Rangana Herath for the first part of the season.
Herath, 32, will be the county's overseas player until the arrival of his countryman Ajantha Mendis later in the summer.
"Rangana will fill the void left in the early part of the season and enables us to keep the balance and continuity within the squad," first team manager Giles White told Hampshire's official website.
"His availability is good and his record is excellent. The team and I look forward to welcoming him to Hampshire."
Herath has taken 70 wickets in 21 Tests for Sri Lanka since making his debut in 1999.
